Diana Taurasi : Diana Taurasi Get Naked For ESPN

Artistic, intellectual photography of naked athletes will grace the newsstands Oct. 8 in ESPN The Magazine’s second annual “The Body Issue.” WNBA guard Diana Taurasi lets her hair down as one of two athletes to star on the cover.

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard and tennis star Serena Williams posed for duel covers last year.

“Doing the shoot was something new and I had fun with it,” said Taurasi. “For me, doing this was about facing the challenge and celebrating everything all of our bodies have been through and done. Cheryl, the photographer, was great to work with and hopefully, we came up with something interesting and maybe even inspiring.”

At least 40 athletes will inspire the public with their bodies including, Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard, MMA fighters Randy Couture and Herschel Walker and NBA players Nate Robinson and Orlando native Amar’e Stoudemire.

I have absolutely no issues with the “Body Issue.” But I wonder if NBA players Greg Oden and Dorell Wright are a little confused about socially accepted nakedness.

Not long ago, Greg Oden and Dorell Wright apologized for taking photos in their birthday suits, which were being circulated on the internet. Apparently, they were really just apologizing for bad photography.
