The One Thing That I Did/Didn’t Do For Diwali: Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha: “The one thing that I completely avoided for Diwali is noise pollution. I don’t burst crackers for Diwali and definitely discourage family and friends from doing the same.

For me Diwali is a time when deeyas are lit one by one with my own hands. I love doing that.”

David Dhawan: “Aur kuch ho yaa na ho, the family has to do Laxmi pooja together. It’s an annual ritual we can’t do without.”

Dino Morea: “I made sure my dogs are hidden away from the noise and crackers because animals get very aggravated by the noise. I made sure I left on all the lights in my house. Never know when Goddess Laxmi decides to enter.”

Urmila Matondkar: “The one thing that I did during Diwali is to gorge on all the yummy sweets without guilt or worry about my figure….And yes, when I see my family around me I thank God for a great life with such a beautiful array of family and friends. The one thing I don’t do is noisy pollution-inflicting crackers.”

Shabana Azmi: “Oscar Wilde said, everything desirable is immoral illegal or fattening. For Diwali I sought everything desirable.”

Pooja Bhatt: “I always share our joy and good fortune with those less fortunate than us. It was no different this year. We never burn any firecrackers of any kind.”

Asin: “No matter where I am I like to be back near my parents for Diwali. It was no different this year. We decorated the house, prepared traditional mithais, wore new clothes…some traditions refuse to die.

Thank God for that! And the other thing that I must do during Diwali is…gorge on sweets! Diwali is the time when I throw my diet out of the window. I love laddoos and jalebis.”

Rajiv Khandelwal: “I was with my parents because I find Diwali incomplete without them. Ever since my brothers and I moved out of my parents’ home the only occasion when we’re all together is Diwali. So that’s the one day in the calendar I really look forward to.”

Sonu Sood: “Every year for Diwali I make sure I perform pooja with my family and I don’t allow non-vegetarian food in my house. Playing cards and drinking are also highly avoidable. So for me Diwali was a dry day.”

Tusshar Kapoor: “Don’t's—I don’t play cards and I don’t burn crackers. Dos—I definitely spend time with my parents and sister. And with close friends.”

Aditya Roy Kapoor: “The one thing that I didn’t do during Diwali is play cards.Hard as everyone tries, I don’t get tricked into it because I’ve a horrible history of losing badly at it.”
