Bikers snatch diamond necklace from businessman’s wife late on Monday night; a bride was robbed in Ghaziabad earlier in the day.

It is the wedding season; the season of joy, festivities and also snatching and looting.

The wife of a businessman was robbed of her diamond necklace by bike-borne assailants in Karol Bagh area of central district late on Monday night.

Police officials said that the victim Saroj Oberoi, a resident ofKalkaji, had come to Ajmal Khan Park to attend a wedding ceremony when she was attacked by two persons travelling on a bike who rode away after snatching her necklace.

“It was around 11.30 pm when the incident took place. The victim got off her car and the bikers caught hold of her. They broke her necklace and pushed her. The chain was worth Rs 1.5 lakh.

She raised an alarm but by then the bikers had fled along with the booty. We are filing an FIR ,” said the senior police official.
